[ABSTRACT]To investigate the response characteristics andsafetyassessment methods of thick-walled warheadsunder theimpactofshaped charges,impact experiments wereconductedonthe warheadsusing jetimpactdevices with twodiameters of 46 mm and125mm.Diferent weights were assigned to 10 typesof response elements toobtain thebest evaluation conformity,therebyasssing the most likely reaction levelof the warhead.The resultsshow that in the two experiments, the average peak overpressure of the reflected shock wave measured at 5.0m are 368.3kPa and 285.3kPa ,respectively. The fragment velocities at a distance of 8.5 m from the explosion center are 1242.9m/s and 1030.8m/s ,and the reactionlevels corrsponding tothe best evaluation conformityaredetonation and explosion,respectively.Compared to theammunitionsafety evaluation standards of the US militaryand NATO,the reaction levelof the warheadcan be more comprehensivelyand scientificallydeterminedbycomparing thepowerdataof typicaldestructiveelementsandasigning different weights to 10 types of response elements.
