ABSTRACTGlucagon-likepeptide-1(GLP-1)receptoragonistsareanovelclassofantidiabeticdrugsthatalsoposess lipidloweringandcardiovascularprotectiveeffects,withliraglutideandsemaglutidebeingtheirrepresentativemedications.Basedona systematicliteraturesearch,thisreviewsummarizesthelipid-loweringmechanismsbywhichliraglutideandsemaglutideexertdirect efectsontheliverandkidney(regulatingautophagy,keylipidmetabolismpathways,reversecholesteroltransport,etc.),direct actionsonadiposetissue(afectingadipocyteproliferationanddiferentiation,expressonoflipidmetabolismprotens,andgene transcription),activationof sympatheticpathways through thecentral nervoussystem,andmodulationofthegut microbiota. Aditionally,itsummarizestheclinicalevidenceoftheirlipid-loweringefectsinpopulationswithtype2diabetesmelius, overweightindividuals,ndothers.ThesefindingsindicatethatGLP-1reeptoragonistsexertlipid-loweringefectsbyactingon multipletissuesorsystems,providing crucialevidence forfurther elucidatingthemolecularmechanismsofthesedrugs inlipid regulation and exploring potential new ideas for their clinical applications.
