Abstract Objective: To construct an evaluation index system for the nursing ability of respiratory infectious diseases by applying the Delphi method,which is used to evaluate the ability of newly recruited nurses in the Department of infectious diseases to care for patients with respiratory infectious diseases, and to provide a reference basis for the investigation and evaluation of the job competence of such nursing staff.Methods:The evaluation index system for the nursing ability of newly recruited nurses in respiratory infectious diseases was preliminarily compiled.Through literature analysis and qualitative interviews,the Delphi method was used to conduct two rounds of letter inquiries with 17 experts to determine the index contents. The analytic hierarchy process was applied to calculate the weights of each index. Results: The questionnaire recovery rates of the two rounds of expert inquiries were 100.00% and 82.35% respectively. The authority coefficients of the experts were 0.88 and 0.89 respectively,and the coordination coefficients were 0.125 and 0.217 respectively ( P<0.001 ).The evaluation index system for the respiratory infectious disease nursing ability of newly recruited nurses in the department of infectious diseases constructed includes 4 first ⁃ level indicators, namely professional knowledge, professional skills, nursing response and coordination ability, and personal quality, 9 second ⁃ level indicators, and 55 third ⁃ level indicators. Conclusion: The evaluation index system for the nursing ability of respiratory infectious diseases constructed in this study has certain scientificity, reliability and practicability.It can provide theoretical references for the investigation and screening of relevant personnel.Subsequently,it will be verified in clinical practice and a training course will be formed to reserve relevant professional nursing staff for clinical practice.
