Abstract Objective:To explore the effect of evidence-based intervention program to reduce the contamination rate of blood culture samples in the clinical practice of children with blood tumors. Methods:According to the "6S" model, the literature was searched from top to bottom, and the literature quality and evidence availability were evaluated to form a review index for reducing the contamination rate of blood culture samples. From 1 to 31 December 2021,18 nursing staff working in the children's hematology and oncology Department of a Grade⁃Ⅲ hospital in Wuhan were selected as the subjects for evidence⁃based practice.Results:Finally,12 pieces of evidence and 11 review indicators were summarized. After evidence-based practice, the contamination rate of blood culture samples decreased from 4.78% to 1.79%,the awareness rate of nursing staff to the evidence increased, and the conformity rate of review indicators increased, with statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion:The quality improvement based on evidence can reduce the contamination rate of blood culture samples, improve the awareness rate of nurses and the conformity rate of examination indicators.
