Abstract:Toinvestigatetheefectsofmangrovecoverageothegrowthandfeedinghabitsofblacktigershrip(Penaeusmoodon) three mangrove- aquaculture coupled ponds with mangrove coverage ratios of 4 % , 2 2 % ,and 3 7 % (Pond1,Pond 2,and Pond 3) were selected.Shripbodylengthodyweight,andconditiofactorweremontored,anduarterlalysesofomachcontentsrecon ducted.Theresultsindicatedthatduringthemid-growthphase(May-July),shrimpexhibitedrapidgrowthandhighgrowthrates,but hadrelativelyowonditionfctors(15-19).nthelategrowthpase(AugustNovember),owthateseclinedutdiion factorssignificantlycreased(.31-.38).P.onodondoptedanpporunisticoivousdingsraterimarilyosigbivalves,benthicalgaeranicdetritus,ips,gastropods,mangrovelitanduidentifablefoodites.Sigficantseasoald spatialvartiosietayompositioereseed,eflectingaighegeofdinglasticityInonusiothove aquaculturecoupledsystempostivelyinfluencesshipgrowth,withbivalve-associatedbenthicorganismsplayingacrucialrole.A higher stocking ratio is found to be more conducive to ecologically efficient shrimp farming.
