Effects of Rejuvenation Treatment on Nutritional Composition and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Populus simonii×P. nigra Leaves

Abstract:Exploringthe efectsof different rejuvenating treatment measures onthe nutritional composition,secondary metabolitesand photosyntheticcharacteristicsofPopulus simonixP.nigraleaves,and providingatheoretical basis for the establishment of the rejuvenating system of P .simonit ×P .nigra in forestry practice in the future.The 4O-year-old superior clones of P .simoniix P .nigra were rejuvenated and cut into seedlings (the mother tree cutting seedlings were usedasthecontrolgroup)bytwomethodsofburied stemsandburiedroots.The diferences inwatercontent,totalflavonoid content,and light saturation point among the three cuting seedlings were measured and analyzed.The results showedthattherejuvenating treatmentcould significantlyincrease thewatercontentand nutrientelement mass fraction of P .simonii×P. nigra leaves. Among them,the relative water content(81. 60% )and total potassium mass fraction (204号 (2.332% )of the leaves of the buried stem cutting seedlings were the highest.The contents of secondary metabolites such as total phenolics (1.633% )and total flavonoids ( 6.214% ) in the leaves of buried root cutting seedlings were significantly higher than those in the other two leaves. The light saturation point ( 1585.093,1730.273μmol/(m2⋅s) ) and Co 2 saturation point (1132.690,1123.560μmol/mol, )of the leaves of the buried root and stem cutting seedlings were higher than those of the mother tree,which improved the photosynthetic capacity of P . simoniixP. nigra to a certainextent.Itcanbe seenthatrejuvenating treatment willhaveapositive impactonthenutritionalcompositionand photosynthetic characteristicsof P .simonit ×P nigra leaves.
