1996年是我与中文结缘的开始。那一年我父亲到乌兹别克斯坦共和国驻华大使馆担任参赞，由此我开始学习中文。那时候，学习中文的人并不多，所以要去中国学习的消息令我颇为意外。走下飞机时，我突然意识到这将开始转变我的命运。面对中国人友好的微笑和好奇的目光，被当作外国人的新奇体验让我倍感愉悦。

1996 marked my first encounter with Chineseculture. In that year， my father was appointedas Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic ofUzbekistan in China， which prompted me to startlearning Chinese. At the time， Chinese was notwidely studied， and the decision to study in Chinawas a new departure for me. As I stepped off theplane， I had a strong sense that my life was aboutto change; the warm smiles and curious looks fromlocal people， along with the excitement of being seenas a foreigner， filled me with joy.
