[Abstract]Long-term dental implant stabilityis governedbythesynergisticregulationofmultiple factors,withocclusalparametersand marginalboneloss (MBL)progression being ofparamount importance.Progresive MBLundermines mechanical retention,predisposing implants to micromotionand jeopardizing their long-term survival.Accumulating evidence hasrevealed that homeostaticocclusion imbalance,characterizedby excessveocclusal loading,aberrantocclusal contacts,anddysfunctional guidance,significantly increases the incidenceofperi-implantbone los,therebydisrupting biomechanical homeostasis.Therefore,this manuscript delineates the mechanisticroleof steady-state occusal imbalance in driving peri-implant MBLand proposes a homeostatic oclusion-based strategy forpreventingandcontrolling such bone loss,aiming to enhance the long-term stability of dental implants.
