Abstract  Objective：To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Falls Efficacy Scale⁃International（FES⁃I） in pregnant women.Methods：Using the general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of FES⁃I，a face⁃to⁃face survey was conducted on 1 118 pregnant women who received routine antenatal care in the obstetrics clinic of a tertiary grade A maternity hospital in Zhejiang Province to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Results：The item⁃level content validity index（I⁃CVI） of the Chinese version of FES⁃I was 0.857⁃1.000，the overall agreement scale⁃level content validity index（S⁃CVI/UA） was 0.813，the average scale⁃level content validity（S⁃CVI/Ave） was 0.969.The result of the critical ratio method showed statistically significant differences in the scores of each item between the high group and the low group（P<0.05）.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficient between each item of the scale and the total score was 0.479⁃0.843（P<0.01）.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 2 factors（indoor and outdoor activity），which explained 60% of the variance.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the 2⁃factor model fit well.The Cronbach's α coefficient of the total scale was 0.929，and the half coefficient was 0.806.Conclusions：The Chinese version of FES⁃I had good reliability and validity in pregnant women，which could evaluate the fear of falling and provide a theoretical basis for reducing falls and fall injuries in pregnant women.
