Abstract: Orogenic gold deposits are one of the world's most important sources of gold, and they are widely distributed both in terms of geological timeand geographic location. The eastern Shandong Peninsula of China is the third largest gold mining camp in the world, with known gold reservesof more than 5300 tons. The majorityof the gold deposits in this region are located within three main ore fields: northwestern Jiaodong (Laizhou-Zhaoyuan), Qixia-Penglai-Fushan,and Muping-Rushan.Jiaojia fault isoneof the most significant ore-controling structures withinthenorthwestern Jiaodong ore field, controling the locationand formationofJiaojia,Xincheng,Hongbu, and numerous other gold deposits. This study investigates the roleof this fault in the formation of these deposits using a three-dimensional geological model. The model is then employed to undertake multi-field,coupled (heat conduction, fluid migration, chemical reactions, and material migration),numerical simulations, focusing on identifying key mineralizing processesand factors involved in deposit formation. The results indicate that temperature reduction and fault structures are the main factors controlling mineralization within Jiaojia fault. The modeling also provides insights into the relationship between Jiaojia fault and itssecondary faults, andAu mieralization within this region, with mineralizing potential greaterat depth within the fault systemsandat intersectionsbetween the main Jiaojia fault and its secondary faults; future mineral exploration could focus on these areas. Inaddition, the duration of the ore-forming processes lasted forabout 8 OoO years, indicating thatthe formation of amagmatic, hydrothermal deposit can be quite rapid, although this 8 OoO year period may only be one of many metallogenic phases.Future research should focus on mathematical modeling ofthe mineralization processes and geologicalanalysis ofthis region, building on the esearch presented. Such studies should provide more detailed and quantitative information on the key processes involved in the formation of world-class gold deposits, such as those found within the eastern Shandong Province of China.
