Abstract: The numerical simulation of flexible skin structure based on complex polygon honeycomb is carried out to study the nonlinear deformation behavior of flexible honeycomb under tensile,shear, torsion and bending loads,and the deformation and strength of structures with no rubber layer,unilateral rubber layer,and bilateral rubber layer are analyzed.The results show that honeycombs without rubber layers may undergo significant deformation under relatively small loads.A unilateral rubber layer may cause structural asymmetry, potentially leading to asymmetric deformation under shear and torsional loads.Bilateral rubber layers play a significant role in restraining the structure.The addition of rubber layers may result in honeycomb flexible skins,which originally exhibit zero Poisson’s ratio or negative Poisson’ratio effects, showing positive Poisson’s ratio behavior.
