Energy Management Strategy for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Buses by Considering the Thermal Load Couple

【Abstract】To address the issue of power distributionand vehicle thermal management in Plug-in HybridElectric Bus (PHEB),this paper proposesannergymanagement strategyconsidering thermal coupling.Fistly,a modelofthe powersystem andthermalmanagementsystemofthewholevehicleisconstructed,andthetheralcharacteristicsofkeycomponentssuchas power battryand passenger compartment andtheircoupling relationshipwiththepower system energyflowareanalyzed.On thisbasis,three energy management strategies based onthe Charge-Depleting Charge-Sustaining (CD-CS) strategy,the Pontryagin’s Minimum Principle(PMP)andthe Adaptive Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy (AECMS)are designed.Finally,thethreeenergymanagementstrategiesconsidering thermal loadaresimulatedunder typicaloperating conditions.The results show that: under high-temperature ( 35∘C )operating conditions,the AECMS strategy reduces the comprehensive energy cost per 100km by 5.7% compared with CD-CS; under low-temperature (O ℃)operating conditions,the AECMS strategy reduces the comprehensive cost per 100km by 18.2% compared with the traditional Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heating mode after adopting the engine residual heat prioritized heat generation mode.
