Performance Testing and Verification of Multi-Mode IoV Communication in a Closed Proving Ground

【Abstract】Three types of IoV communication network test platforms of the 5th Generation mobile communication technology(5G),EnhancedUltraHigh Throughput (EUHT)andLong-TermEvolution-VehicletoEverything(LTE-V2X)are constructedbasedontheclosedtestfield.Andfour testscenariosaredesigned,includingthefull-fieldperformancetest, dynamicandstaticperformancetest,Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I)communicationperformancetestandVehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V)communication performance test.Communicationdelay,datapacketdeliveryrateandthroughputareusedas evaluation metrics toverifyandcomparativelyanalyzetheperformanceof theabove threecommunicationnetworks intypicalapplication scenarios,suchasvaryingcommuicationdistancs,diferentvehiclespeeds,V2Icommunicationuplink,downlinkandhbrid transmissionandend-to-endV2Vcommunication inreal-vehicletests.Testresults indicatethatthethreeabovenetworks generally satisfytherequirementsof IoVapplications in dynamic traffc environment,among which 5G demonstrates the superiorperformance,followedbyEUHT,butintermsofdeploymentcostandcomplexity,LTE-V2Xhasasignificant advantage.
