Abstract:To investigate theeectof thelongitudinalair gaponthe detonation performanceof HMX-based explosive,direct observationof stee plate deformationand damage under forwardand slipping detonationof HMX based explosive was conductedbasedonthe laserillumination combined withthe ultra-high speed framing imaging technology.The multi-position optical speed measurement technology was also introduced to continuously measure the speedofsteel plate,which enables a multidimensional characterizationand quantitativeresearch onsteel plate damageunder the influenceof airgaps.It is found that when the air gap width is 0.05, O.10 and 0 . 2 0 m m ,the motion mode of the steel plate changes obviously under the forward detonation.The trendofthecenterpoint movement changes from steprising tooblique wave rising,indicatinga notable elongation ofthe lead time of detonation wave.And the stelplate also has an obvious deformation and breakdown. Driven by slippingdetonation,the motion paterns acrossvarious pointsof thestee plate are largelyuniform,withonly marginal variations inthe leadtimeof detonation wave.No significant deformation orrupture of the stel plateis observed. Itis considered that the wedge-shaped wave formed bytheprecursorshock waveanddetonation waves isthekeytothe breakdown ofthe bottomofstelplate inthecaseofforward detonation.However,themomentumcomponentofthe precursorshock wave and detonation wave acting on the sideof steel plate in the caseofslipping detonation is smallso that no obvious damage ocurs.This articlealsoprovidesalotofquantitative data onthedeformationofsteelplatessubjectedtolongitudinalairgaps, which can provide high-precision experimentaldata for the related numerical simulationsand theoretical analysis work.
