Analysis of prenatal ultrasound imaging features of umbilical artery dysplasia

ABSTRACTObjectiveTo summarize the prenatal ultrasound imaging features of fetuseswith umbilical artery dysplasiaand toanalyze the occurence of adversepregnancyoutcomes.MethodsA total of106 fetuses diagnosed with umbilicalarterydysplasiabyprenatalultrasoundinourhospital wereenrolled.Ultrasonographywasusedtomeasurethe inerdiameterof the fetalumbilicalarteryand itshemodynamicparameters，with follw-upofpregnancyandpostnatal neonatal outcomes.ResultsTheprenatalultrasoundimaging featuresofumbilicalarterydysplasiaincludedheterogeneousblood flowfillng inebilateralumbilcalarters，abseneofthenoal“three-vessl"（"cloverlaf"）paernofteumbilicaldin amnioticfluid，ndinconsistentinerdiametersofthetwoubilicalarteriesontransversesection.Theaverageinnerdaterwas （3.86±0.95）mmforthethickerarteryand（2.37O.64）mmforthethinnerone.Theratioofpeaksystolicvelocitytoend-diastolic velocityratio（（S/D），pulsailityindex（PI），andresistanceindex（RI）of thethinnerarteryweresignificantlyhigherthantose ofthethickerartery（ P <0.05）.Among thecases，52 fetuses complicated with structural or functional abnormalities，including11 casesof ventricularorposteriorfossaanomalies，casesofcardiacabnrmalities，Ocasesofplacentalsius，8casesofreal pelvis dilation，7casesoftricuspidregurgitation（6cases weremild，1casewas moderate），and6casesofotheranomalies.The pregnancyoutcomes werepoorin2cases（1caseofrespiratorydistressafterbirthandlcaseofinducedlabor），while theremaining 50cases werefollowedupuntilafterdelivery，allwithgoodoutcomes.ConclusionTheprenatalultrasoundimaging fetusesof umbilicalarterydysplasiademonstratesacertaincharacteristics，andreal-time monitoringoffetalhemodynamicscanpromptly guideclinicalpracticeinimplementingappropriateinterventions，therebypreventingtheoccurrenceofadersepregnancyutcomes.
