Abstract:After theAnti-Japanese Warentered thestalemate phase,the Japanesepuppet forces intensified their blockadeand threatsagainst the Shaan-Gan-NingBorderRegion，whiletheKuomintang deliberatelyfomented antiCommunist "frictions."The Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region experienced severe diffculties in maintaining contact andexchangesofpersonnelandsupplieswiththeoutside world,placing theAnti-JapaneseMilitaryandPolitical University（Anti-JapaneseUniversity)inanincreasinglyuntenablesituation.Inorder tocontinuedevelopingand strengthening the revolutionary force,the CCP decided to open abranch school of Anti-Japanese University behind enemylinesand moved its headquarters toNorth China behindenemy lines.The Anti-Japanese Universitycom一 binedstudy,ombatdproductionsimultaneouslytegratingachng,esearchndpracticeintorinityat edaneducational model suitedtotheguerilla warfare environmentbehind enemy linesand formedanorganizational systemof mainand branch schools.A large number of students,imbued with simple patriotic sentiments,were trained intoexemplary"Type38"cadres—both morally and intellectuallycompetent,with multipleskill.Thesecadres not onlymade indispensablecontributions tothe victoryofthe WarofResistance butalsoexertedalong-termand trans一 formative influence on the developmentof the People's Armyand preparedasubstantial talent pool for theconstruc一 tion of the New China.
