Abstract: In order to study the gas desorption characteristics of coal samples collected by sealed sampling, according to the sealed sampling procedure,the gas desorption process was divided into the diffusion stage,the sealeddesorption stage,and the atmospheric natural desorption stage. Gas desorption experiments ofcoal samples coleted bysealed samplingwereconducted,and the variation characteristicsofcumulativegas desorption and desorption rate were analyzed. The results showed that: ① In the sealed desorption stage,with the increase of adsorptionequilibrium pressure,both thecumulativegas desorptionand the initial gas desorptionrate increased.
However, with the continuous isochoric variable-pressure desorption,the gas desorption capacity was limited,the gas desorption rate gradually decreased, and the cumulative gas desorption gradually tended to be stable. ② In the atmospheric natural desorption stage, with the increase of adsorption equilibrium pressure,both the cumulative gas desorption and the initial gas desorption rate gradually increased.Due to the influence of free gas desorption in the sealed desorption stage,the initial gas desorption rateatthis stage was higher than that in the sealed desorption stage.With the increase of desorption time,the cumulative gas desorption gradually tended to be stable. ③ The Sun Chongxu equation wel described the gas desorption characteristics in the atmospheric natural desorption process.The desorption indicator increased with the increase of adsorption equilibrium pressure, while the desorption exponent basicall remained stable under diferent adsorptionequilibrium pressures,indicating that coal samples collected by sealed sampling had stronger desorption capacity under higher adsorption equilibrium pressure,and the variation of gas desorption rate was basically consistent under diferent adsorption equilibrium pressures.
