Abstract：In the field of plant germplasm resource research，studies on core germplasm have always played acrucialrole.This notonlyinvolves thecolectionof germplasmresources ofkeyspeciessuchascrops，forest trees， flowers，and medicinal plants but also encompassesmultiple aspects including theconservation，identification， evaluation，and applicationofthese resources.Core germplasmresearch isofutmost significance foryieldand quality improvement and stress resistance enhancement incrops.Aditionall，ithas an indispensable and far-reachingimpact ontheprotectionof plant species diversityand the formulationand implementationof sustainable development strategies.Thisarticle systematicallyreviewed theprogressand construction strategiesof plantcore germplasm， focusedonsummarizing the latest progreses suchasconstructionmethods，constructionachievements，and important applications，and prospected the future development trends of research in this field，with a view to providing references and insights for subsequent research.
