Abstract This paper explores theapplication of semanticall-based metadata interoperability methods in the field of scientificdata，aiming to promote the sharingandreuseofscientific data.Throughonlineresearchandcaseanalysis，the study identifiessix keymethods formetadatasemanticinteroperability：core metadata，mapping，applicationspecifications， metadata models，metadata registration systems，and ontologies.The paper examines the implementation principles of each interoperability method and itsapplications inthe scientificdata domain.Basedon a comparative analysis，a conceptual framework for semantic interoperabilityof scientific data metadata，grounded inontology，is proposed.The paper concludes with suggestions forenhancing metadata semantic interoperability in scientificdata，including：emphasizing metadata semantic interoperability to enable in-depth information aggregation; constructing metadata ontologies to fully reveal the relationshipsbetween metadata elements;and prioritizing theFAIR principles to advanceboth theoretical and practical research on metadata interoperability.
