【Abstract】Community-acquired pneumonia（CAP），one of the common infectious diseases，exhibits increasing morbidity and mortality with age，posing significant clinical challnges.Although Chinese patent medicines（CPMs） demonstrate eficacyin adult CAP treatment，high-quality evidence-based guidelines have been lacking.To addressthis gap， weorganizeda multidisciplinaryexpert panel todeveloptheGuidelineon Treating Community-acquiredPneumonia with Chinese Patent Medicines，adhering tothe principlesof evidence-based，consensus-supplemented，and experience-referredand following standardizedclinicalpracticeguidelinedevelopmentprocedures.Through literaturereviewandDelphiquestionaires， sixclinicalquestions wereidentified.Systematicevidenceretrievalandsynthesisofthebstavailable evidencewereconducted， integratingfactorssuch asevidencequality，patientpreferences，valueorientations，andresouce alocation.After tworoundsof Delphisurveys and expertconsensus meetings，the guideline wasfinalizedand published in2O23 inPharmacologicalResearch. This updated edition systematically incorporates recent evidence，adds pharmacoeconomic evaluations and recommendation rationales，and presents14recommendationscovering nineCPMs，covers9kindsof raditional Chinese patentmedicines.The guidelinehasbenrestructuredaccordingtothefirsteditionofreportingchecklistforChinesepatentmedicineguidelines（RIGHT for CPM）toenhance clinicalapplicability，acessbility，andoperationalizability，thereby promotig therationaluseof CPMs in adult CAP treatment.
