The Clustering of SRDI Enterprises and the Income Gap Among Residents： AnEmpirical AnalysisBased onUrbanSamples

Abstract：Theregionalclusteringof SRDIenterprises isconducivetounblocking economic circulation botlenecksand optimizing theinitial income distributionpatern，andisan important measure tonarowthe incomegapamong residents. Based onpanel datafrom 272 cities in Chinabetween 2O19and 2O23，thisarticleconducts anempirical analysisonthe mediating and moderating efects of the clustering of SRDI enterpriseson the income gap among residents.According to the researchfindings，the clusteringof SRDIenterprises helps shrink the income gapamong allurbanresidents，though it has no significantimpactontown andruralresidents.Optimizing industrial structures and eliminating the digitalgapare crucial pathways through which the clustering of SRDI enterprises can help narrow the income gap among residents. Additionally，the education levelof residents and the degreeof urbanization playenhanced and weakened moderating roles，respectively，inthis mechanism.Thefurtherresearchrevealssignificanttemporalandspatialheterogeneityinthe impact effect of the clustering of SRDI enterprises helps shrink the income gap among all urban residents.
