Advances in Meat Adulteration Detection Based on CRISPR/Cas Technology

Abstract:Inrecent years,meatadulteration has become aprominentissuethreatening foodsafetyandtouchingonreligion, economy,and more,making itapresing social problem.While various detection methods exist for meatadulteration, traditional techniquesfall short inmetingthedemandforrapidandaurateon-sitedetection.Thus,developingrapidand accurate methods for on-site detection meat adulteration is greatsignificance.The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-asociated proteins (Cas))system,composed CRISPRand Cas,has the advantages trans-cleavage activityand high specificityandhas become an ultrasensitive nucleicacid detection tool.It showssignificant potential inmeatadulterationdetection.This paperreviewstheprosandcons theexisting methods for meat adulteration dtection,and introduces thecomposition,clasification,and mechanismaction the CRIPR/Cas system,witha focus onthe application CRIsPR/Cas-based technology in meat adulterationdetection.Italsodiscusses the advantages,challenges and future directions this technology.
