Abstract：【Objective/Meaning】Under the dual backgroundof acelerating the populationagingand increasing thepension presure，this paperempiricallyanalyzedtheimpactofmedicalinsuranceonthere-employmentofyoungerelderlypeople，inorder to providereferenceforallviatingthelborshortageandreleasingthedemographic dividendofteelderly.【Methods/Procdures】 Basedonthedataof China HealthandPensionFolow-upSurvey（CHARLS）in 2020，the binaryLogit modeland intermediary efectmodel wereusedto investigate the influenceof medical insuranceonthere-employmentof youngerelderlypeople. 【ResultsConclusions】The study found that： （1）The medical insurance could significantlypromote the re-employmentof youngerelderlypeople.（2）Themedicalinsurancepromotedthere-employmentof theyoungerelderlybyimprovingtheirealth level.（3）There werediferences ingender，householdregistrationand maritalstatus intheimpactofmedical insuranceonthereemploymentofyounger elderly peopleandithada strongerrole in promotingthere-employmentoffemale younger elderlypeople， rural younger elderly people and maried younger elderlypeople.Basedonthis，thecountermeasures were put forward including constructinganincentive mechanism for medicalinsuranceparticipation toimprove thecoveragerateof medical insurance， strengtheningthe two-way inkagebetween health insurance andemployment support torelease the promotionefciencyofmedical insurance，andimplementingthediferentiatedemploymentsupportpolicies topayatetiontotehterogeeouseedsofgroups.
