Analysis on the Impact of New Quality Productive Forces inAgriculture on Food Security in China

Abstract:【Objective/Meaning】Exploring the specific pathwaysand spatial effectsof new quality productive forces in agricultureonthefoodsecuritywillelucidatetheiroperational mechanismsandregional heterogeneitytherebyprovidingan empiricalbasis forsystematicallenhancingtheresilienceoffoodsecurity.【Methods/Procedures】Basedonthepaneldataof30 provinces in Chinafrom2013 to2023,thespatialimpaceffects ofnew-qualityagriculturalproductivityonthefoodsecurityand its internalmechanisms wereempiricallanalyzedbyusing the Spatial Durbin Model.【Results/Conclusions】The study found that thenew-ualityagriculturalproductivitysignificantlyimprovedtheleveloffoodsecuityinthelocalregionandhadposiiveinterregionalspatialspillovereffects.Theheterogeneityanalysisshowedthatthepromotingeffectsofnew-qualityagricultural productivityonthefoodsecuritylevelsintheeasternregions,non-majorgrain-producingareas,andtheregionsithhigh-tech investment were more prominent.Te mechanism testsconfirmed that thenew-quality agricultural productivitycould indirectly enhance thefoodsecuritybyoptimizingtheagricultural industrialstructureand improvingtheagricultural gren totalfactor productivityTherefore,itwasnecessrytoestablisharegionalcollborativegoveancesystemtoativatethespatialspilover efects,deepentheoptimizationpathoftheindustrialtructure,improvethetechnicalempowementsystemfortheagricultural grentotalfctorproductivityandimplementtheegionaldiferentiatedguaranteepoies,soaststematicallyanethe resilience of food security.
