长江经济带数字产业集聚对城市碳排放的影响研究

Abstract: A systematic study on the urban carbon emission reduction efect of digital industry agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is of great theoretical and practical guiding significance for promoting regional coordinated governance and facilitating the construction of a Beautiful China.Based on the panel data of 108 cities in China’s Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2023,this study applied the fixed-effect model(FEM),mediating effect model,and threshold effect model to conduct an empirical test.The test focused on the direct effect,heterogeneous characteristics,transmisson path, and threshold effect of digital industry agglomeration on urban carbon emissions.The results showed the follwing: First, digital industry agglomeration could inhibit the increase in urban carbon emissions. This conclusion remained valid after endogeneity tests and robustness tests were carried out.Second,the carbon emission reaction effect of digital industry agglomeration was more significant in two types of cities, namelycities dominated by the secondary industry and cities in the central region of China.Third,the development level of the digital economy played a significant partial mediating role in the inhibitory effect of digital industry agglomeration on carbon emissions.Fourth,when the development level of the digital economy reached a threshold value of O.O11,the inhibitory eect of digital industry agglomeration on carbon emissions began to become prominent. Based on the research conclusions,it is suggested to strengthen the policy guidance for digital industry agglomeration,construct a high-quality development ecosystem for the digital economy,and implement targeted carbon emisson reduction strategies based on urban heterogeneity.
