Modelling and analysis of high-speed solid-rotor induction machine by nonlinear time harmonic field electric circuit coupled finite element analysis

Abstract:A high-precision and rapid 2D electromagnetic field modeling method considering material nonlinearity characteristics through field-circuit coupled finite element analysis was proposed for high-speed solid-rotor induction motors.Firstly,the electromagnetic field diffusion equations in diferent physical domains of the motor were systematically derived.The Galerkin method was employed to transform these diffusion equations into linear equation systems by element analysis,with detailed computational methods explicitly provided for element stiffess matrices,mass matrices,and load vectors in the field-circuit coupled finite element calculation process.For time-harmonic field analysis,sinusoidal processing of nonlinear materials in stator and rotor was implemented based on magnetic energy equivalence principle to enhance computational accuracy of electromagnetic performance. By combining Newton-Raphson iteration method,complex equation systems in time-harmonic field were transformed into real-number equations. The Newton-Raphson iterative scheme for solving equations was thoroughly derived,including explicit formulation of its Jacobian matrix,thereby realizing rapid solutionof field-circuit coupled time-harmonic field considering material nonlinearity.Finall,a dedicated solver library for field-circuit coupled analysis of high-speed solid rotor induction motors was developed. Systematic electromagnetic performance analysis and modeling were conducted on a prototype motor using this library,effectively validating the accuracy and reliability of the proposed algorithm.
