Rotor position estimation method for switched reluctance motor based on flux linkage Fourier series model

Abstract:To address the issue of dependence on motor flux linkage characteristic curves in sensorless control of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) during medium and high speed operation,a rotor position estimation method for SRMs based on the flux linkage Fourier series model was proposed.Firstly,discontinuous calculated flux linkage was obtained through integration. Secondly,a flux observer based on the fast delayed signal cancellation method was constructed to eliminate the DC bias and allharmonics below the 5Oth order in the calculated flux linkage,yielding a fundamental flux component with clear position information. Thirdly,by analyzing the discontinuity of the calculated flux linkage and the phase shift introduced by the flux observer,the phase relationship between the fundamental flux component and the rotor position was clarified.Finaly,the estimated rotor position and speed were obtained via a phaselocked loop (PLL)and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by simulation analysis and experimental results. The experimental results show that the rotor position estimation error does not exceed 2.4∘ during no-load steady-state operation, does not exceed 2.6∘ during sudden load application, and does not exceed 3.1∘ during sudden speed changes.
