Abstract:Polycysticovary syndrome(PCOS)is a reproductive endocrine disorder whose long-term risk of cardiovascular complications is increasing annualy, posing a serious threat to patient health.Important pathogenic mechanisms underlying the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD)in PCOS include hormonal imbalances coupled with disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism, disruption of microenvironment homeostasis, impairmentof vasomotor and endothelial cell function, abnormalities in angiogenesis and remodeling, and disruptionof ionchannels. A substantial bodyof research indicates that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can prevent and treat PCOS complicated byCVD through multiple approaches, such as improving glucose and lipid metabolism, regulating sex hormones,exertinganti-inflammatory efects, promoting angiogenesis, and modulating vascular endothelialfunction. This article systematicall summarizes the pathogenesis of PCOS complicated by CVD and the research findings on TCM intervention mechanisms, aiming to provide further reference for the clinical applicationof TCM in the prevention and treatment of PCOS complicated by CVD.
