Preparation Aspartimide-Based Polyurea Elastomers Study Their Anti-Icing Properties

Abstract:Iceaccretion isacommon phenomenon in natural environments.However,severe iceaccretion significantly affects people'sdailylives poses major challenges acrossmultiple fields,including communicationsystems, wind power generation,shore operations,aerospace engineering, polar exploration.A polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-modified aspartimide-based polyurea elastomer (SPUE)wassynthesizedvia a two-step method using hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (HTPDMS),hexamethylene disocyanate (HDI), polyaspartic ester (PAE)asrawmaterials. Molecular design strategies were employed to introduce flexible silicone hydrophobic segments rigid urea linkages, achievinga synergistic enhancement anti-icing performance mechanical performance.Theresultsdemonstrate that SPUE exhibits outsting anti-icing performance,with a water contact angle 133∘ ,awater rolling angle 19∘ , an ice adhesion strength 47kPa . The material retains stable performance after 1 Ooo abrasion cycles 2 000h UV aging. Moreover,the materialshowsexcelentrainerosionresistance,highlighting itspotentialforapplications inwindturbine blade protection.
