Abstract:With the intensifying challenges inenergy,materials and naturalresources,coupled with rising health demands, there is a growing need for new materials thatcombinehigh performance,biosafetyand renewability.Silk fibroin,derived fromnatural silk,isreadilyprocessable,exhibitsexcelentmechanicalpropertiesandgoodbiocompatibilityandoffers controllabledegradability.Itshowsgreatpotential in biomedicine,smart wearablesandflexiblesensing.Thisreview summarizes recentadvances inthe functionalization and creationof intelligent silk fibroin-based materials.Drawingonour group'sworks,ithighlightsprogressinsilkfbroi-basedfibers,films,3Dconstructs,biomedicalsafolds,self-powered devices and memristors.Thisreview aims to guide the design and fabrication of high-performance,multifunctional and intelligent silk-fibroin materials.
