Clinical Study on Ear Holography Copper Bian Scraping for Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's Disease Accompanied by Sleep Disorders

Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical efficacy of copper bian scraping therapy based on the "ear holography"theoryin treating patients withmild to moderate Alzheimer's disease（AD）accompaniedbysleepdisorders. Methods：A total of 60 patients with mild to moderate ADaccompanied by sleep disorders treated at the Memory Clinic ofGuangdongProvincial Hospitalof Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to August2024 were randomlydivided into the trial groupand thecontrol group，with 3O patients ineach group，using arandom number table method.The control groupreceived sleep health educationonthebasis ofconventionalanti-AD treatment，while the trial groupreceivedear holographic copper bian scraping treatmentonthe basisof the control group，oncea week for four consecutive weeks. Before and after treatment，the Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index（PSQI）was used to assess sleep quality，the Mini Mental State Examination （MMSE）was used to asssscognitive function，and the Zarit Burden Interview（ZBI）was used to assess caregiver burden. Compared the PSQI，MMSE，and ZBI scores of the two groups before and after treatment.Results：After treatment，the PSQI and ZBI scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment （ P<0.05 ），and the PSQI and ZBI scores in the trial group were lower than those in the control group （ P<0.05 ）.After treatment，the MMSE score in the trial group was increased when compared with that before treatment （ P<0.05 ）.Conclusion： The copper bian scraping therapy based on the "ear holography" theory can efectively improve the sleep qualityof patients with mild to moderate ADaccompanied byslep disorders，enhance cognitive function，and reduce the burden on caregivers.
