Clinical Experience of Chen Weiliang in Treating Steroid-Induced Dsteonecrosis of Femoral Head Based on the Theory of Latent Blood Stasis

Abstract：This article summarizes Profesor Chen Weiliang’s clinical experience in diagnosing and treating steroid-induced osteonecrosis offemoral head（SONFH）based onthe theoryof latent blood stasis.The formationof latent blood stasis exactlyreflects the features of slowlyprogression of SONFH.The characteristics of latent blood stasis are closely related to the onset，progression，and prognosis of SONFH.Professr Chen Weiliang posits that thefire-heat nature of glucocorticoids is prone to causing spleen deficiency and kidney weakness and water （kidney）failing tocontrol fire，which eventuallycauses the formation oflatent blood stasis.The latent blood stasis injures the bone，and then SONFH develops.Based on the theory of latent blood stasis，the treatmentof SONFH should folow the principles of strenghtening the spleen and tonifyingthe kidney，nourishing yin and replenishing marrow，removing stasis and supporting healthy qi. Accordingly， Shenling Baizhu San，Gujiu Formula，and Buyang Huanwu Decoction can be selected as the basic prescriptions and were used by modification based on syndrome diferentiation.Professor Chen Weiliang’s treatment approach to SONFH from the perspective of latent blood stasis ofers a valuable reference for the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine in managing this condition.

股骨头坏死又称股骨头缺血性坏死，是指因股骨头附近的血运障碍，或股骨头内压力增大压迫血管，导致骨破坏与骨生成的平衡被打破，从而使原有的关节在承重、摩擦、撞击过程中，出现股骨头失去其圆润的形态并塌陷，进而逐渐形成髋部功能障碍的一类疾病。（剩余9998字）
