Analysis of bone age in children undergoing growth and development freeclinic at Cenxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital

【Abstract】ObjectiveTo explore the bone age development characteristics of childrenaged 3 to 17 years in Cenxi City， so as to provide ascientific basisfor primarychildrenhealthcare work.MethodsChildrenaged3 to17years who participatedinthegrowthanddevelopmentfreeclinicattheDepartmentofChild HealthcareofCenxi MaternalandChildHealth Hospital from January2O24 to November2O24 wereselectedasstudysubjects.Left-hand wrist joint X-rayanteroposterior films were takenand evaluatedacordingtothe"ChineseWristBoneAge Standard—ChinaO5."Andthen，correlation between boneageand chronological age wasanalyzedacrossdiferent agegroups，genders，andchildren withlower height. ResultsInthe age groups ofthe free clinic，exceptfor the groupof girls aged 3 to<6andthe group of boys aged 12 to <18 ， whosebone age was slightlylower thantheir actualage，the bone ageof allother groupswas slightlyearlierthantheir actual age （ P>0.05 ）.There was no statistically significant diffrence in bone age between children of diferent genders and age groups and their actual age （ P>0.05 ）.Theabnormal bone age rate in girls （41.02% ）wasslightly higher than that in boys （ 36.05% ），but the difference was not statistically significant （ P>0.05 ）.Among children with lower height，both boys and girlshadahigherproportionof individualswithboneagedelayedbymorethanoneyearcomparedtothosewithboeage advanced by more than one year，and the difference was statistically significant （ P<0.01 ）.Conclusion Regular bone age assessment for childrenaged3 to17years can helpunderstand boneage development，and provideareferencefor primary
childrenhealthcare.
