A mixed study of obstacles and promoting factors in nurses' implementation of pelvic floor rehabilitation for prostate cancer

Abstract Objective：To gain an in-depth understanding of the barriers and facilitators that nurses encounter in implementation of pelvic floor rehabilitation programmes with prostate cancer，and to provide a reference and basis for the development and implementation of pelvic floor rehabilitation programmes.Methods：The study was conducted using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods.Using the method of descriptive qualitative research，20 nurses in urology department from a class A tertiary hospital in Wuhan City were selected as the research subjects，an interview outline was developed based on the theoretical domain framework，face-to-face interviews were conducted，and Nvivo 20 software was used to conduct content analysis.A quantitative study was conducted on 108 nurses in the urology department using a questionnaire based on a theoretical domain framework.The qualitative and quantitative results were integrated and mapped to each theoretical domain framework domain，and specific intervention functions were extracted using the COM-B，the core component of the behavior change wheel，to assess barrier factors.Results：Six barriers and eight facilitators were identified from the 14 domains of the theoretical domain framework，mapped to the 3 parts of the behavior change wheel and matched to 8 intervention functions.Conclusion：Barriers and facilitators to the nurses' implementation of pelvic floor rehabilitation evidence for prostate cancer and identified through qualitative and quantitative studies of the theoretical domain framework，and matched to intervention functions by mapping to the behavior change wheel theory，sa as to provides a reference and rationale for the clinical development and implementation of interventions.
