Summary of the best evidence for self-management in elderly patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract  Objective：To summarize the best evidence of self-management in elderly patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease，and provide a basis for developing comprehensive and scientific self-management plans.Method：The PIPOST model was used to transform clinical questions into evidence-based questions，and the "6S" evidence model was used to search for clinical decisions，guidelines，best practices，expert consensus，systematic reviews，and evidence summaries related to self-management of elderly gastroesophageal reflux disease in domestic and foreign databases such as BMJ Best Practice，the Cochrane Library，PubMed，CNKI，WanFang Database，and related websites.The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to March 1，2023.Two researchers conducted a quality evaluation of the literature and summarized and graded the evidence.The quality of the included literature was evaluated by two researchers，and the evidence was summarized and graded.Results：A total of 21 articles were included，including 3 clinical decisions，6 guidelines，1 clinical practice，6 systematic reviews，and 5 expert consensus articles.The final form includes the purpose，management principles，guiding content，promotion strategy 4 aspects，a total of 25 items.Conclusion：The summarized evidence can provide reference for the evidence-based practice of self-management in elderly patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
