——从史蒂文斯的诗作看食物的美学属性

摘要:综观史蒂文斯的所有诗集,早期诗集《簧风琴》包含了最多的食物意象,这与他早年在纽约这座美食大都市的生活经历不无关系。史蒂文斯通过对食物的冥想进行创作,这些诗作也折射出食物的四种美学属性:象征性、身体性、普遍性和自反性。换言之,食物是否具有跨越时空的普遍象征性要取决于人们是否对它进行冥想。

Meditation on Food

— On the Aesthetic Attributes of Food Through Stevens’ Poems

Abstract: Looking at all Stevens’ poetry collections, the early collection Harmonium contains the most food imagery, which is closely related to his early life in New York, a gourmet metropolis. Stevens created works through meditation on food, and these poems also reflect four aesthetic attributes of food: symbolism, corporality, universality, and reflexivity. In other words, whether food has a universal symbolism across time and space depends on whether we meditate on it.
