Research progress on QTL mapping and regulatory genes related to grain shape and grain weight in maize

Abstract:As the main food crop in China,maize plays a keyrole inensuring national fod security and promoting socialandeconomic development.This studyreviewedtheQTL mapping of grain shapeand grain weight relatedtraits in maize,the keyregulatory genes of grain shape and grain weight in maize and their mechanismof action,and theresearch progressof grain sizeregulation network in maize.The potential genes for improving grain weightandoptimizing grain shape were explored to provide genetic resources for maize grain shape improvement,and the future research was prospected.
