Optimization of closure jacking force of asymmetric curved continuous rigid frame bridges

Abstract:Inorder to studythe mechanical properties and displacementresponseof anasymmetric curved continuous rigidframe bridge,andensure reasonable stressand deformation during operation,the asymmetric closure jacking force was determinedvia quadratic programming byusing thesumof squaresof longitudinaland transversehorizontal displacementsat thepiertoplOyearsaftercompletionastheobjectivefunction,andthepier topandbottomstresses duringconstructionand the transversedisplacementdiferenceacrosstheclosure segmentastheconstraints.Basedonanactual bridgeproject,theclosure jacking force wasoptimizedandanalyzed under threeconditions:nojackingforce,unoptimized jacking force,andoptimized jacking force.Theresultsdemonstratethattheoptimized jacking forcesignificantlyimproves bridge alignmentand internal force distribution,efectively restraining pier displacements-longitudinal displacements are kept below 3mm ,and transverse displacements are reduced by 29.4% . Additionally,stress distribution at the pier top and bottom becomes more uniform during operation byoptimizing thestress stateof thebridge pier.The proposed quadratic programming method is effective, andtheresarch resultscan provideatheoretical basis for the design oftheclosure jacking forces in similarbridgeprojects.
