Abstract: Considering that conventional optical microscopes are limited by Abbe diffraction difraction,the resolution cannot meet research needs in the fields of biology,materials,and microelectromechanical systems, so some sub-diffraction imaging techniques based on fluorescent probes are needed for science research. Compared with traditional fluorescent probes,diamond nitrogen-vacancy(NV) color centers have stable luminescence characteristics,unique optical bright and dark state conversion characteristics, long electron spin correlation time, biocompatibility and other excellent characteristics,which can become a new type of probe to play an important role in the field of subdifraction imaging.This paper introduced two mechanisms of NV color centers as fluorescent probes, three types of fluorescent probe-based subdiffraction microscopy techniques,summarized and compared the applications of NV color centers in these subdiffraction imaging techniques, and finally prospected their applications.
