Abstract: The application nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) mode-locking technology in all-normal-dispersion yterbium-doped fiber lasers is investigated. Nonlinear polarization rotation is a mode-locking method that utilizes the Kerr effect in optical fibers to achieve an artificially tunable saturable absorber,fering advantagessuch asfast response time narrow output pulses.Bidirectional output lasers have advantages high integration low cost due to the fact that bidirectional output pulses share a single cavity can effectively suppress common mode noise.In our experiment,an al-normal-dispersion bidirectional output Yb-doped fiber laser was employed, which self-starting mode-locking was realized. The experimental results indicated that the laser yielded noise-like pulses(NLPs) in both directions at 1026.4nm 1040nm wavelengths, with output spectral bwidths 15nm 25nm .Output pulse energy clockwise (CW) counterclockwise (CCW) directions were 5nJ 1.7nJ ,respectively.The repetition frequency the bidirectional output was at 46.04MHz , the signal-to-noise ratio the each bidirectional output was 45dB : The pulse duration the bidirectional output was 60 ps. The bidirectional ultrashort outputs the laser provide potential applications in optical comb spectroscopy technology.
