Design for Residual Current Detection in Mode 2 Charging of Electric Vehicles

Abstract:In the field of new energy electric vehiclecharging piles,residual current detection isan important measure to ensure personal safety and has been implemented asa mandatory standard.At present,residual current detection is realized by means of magnetic ring induction for current signalsand single-chip microcomputer processing for acquisition.This methodnotonly requiresself-inspection to verify the working status at power-on initialization butalso has a long response time,leading to high design costs forthe power-of protection actuator. Meanwhile,the single-chip microcomputer processing mode has therisk of system freeze,which easily causes the failure of residualcurrent detection.In view ofthe above shortcomings,a method for detecting residual currnt using discretecomponents isproposed,whicheliminatestheneedforself-ispection,avoidstheriskofsystemfreeze,and featuresa fast response speed.The response time can be reduced to less than 50% of that of existing products, providing sufficient actiontime forthepower-off protection actuator.
