PFC Optimization Modulation Strategy for Bidirectional Resonant Converter of V2G Charging Station

Abstract:To improvetheintegrationand performanceofthebidirectionalconverterfor electric vehicle bidirectional charging stations,a single-stage resonant three-port bidirectional converter with V2G,G2Vand H2L modes is proposed.First,theequivalent modelof theconverter is established,and the mathematical model for the output power is derived.Then,the working modes oftheconverter areanalyzed,and the resonant cavitycurrent is designed.An optimized modulation strategy is proposedthat balances low current stress and power factor correction (PFC)on the grid side.Finally,simulation analysis isconducted underPLECS.Theresultsshow that the converterachievesahigh power factoronthegrid sideunder both forwardandreverseoperatingconditions while maintaining lowcurrent stress.Theproposed optimization modulation strategy helps to improve theconverter’s efficiency and the utilization rate of electrical energy in the power supply lines.
