青州风格鹿野苑式佛像的传播与发展

内容摘要:古青州地区出土大量北齐隋代鹿野苑式石刻立佛像,多数着通肩式袈裟,少数着袒右肩式袈裟、右肩半披式袈裟、双领下垂式袈裟,造型受到印度、东南亚鹿野苑式佛像影响,同时深度汉地化、青州化。在核心区域形成青州、诸城两个各有特征的造像组群,外围区域囊括济南、临沂地方,辐射区域远及冀南、皖北地方。

On the Dissemination and Development of Sarnath Statues
in the Style of Qingzhou

Abstract:A large number of standing stone Sarnath-type Buddha statues dating from the Northern Qi and Sui dynasties have been unearthed from an archaeological site in the ancient Qingzhou region. Most of the statues are adorned with a kasaya that covers both shoulders while a few are dressed with either the left or right shoulder exposed, or with both ends of the collar dropping down. The statues were made in the style of Sarnath Buddha images from India and Southeast Asia, though at the same time many of their features have clearly been Sinicized. Two types of image groups have been identified: one from Qingzhou and another from Zhucheng, each with its own unique characteristics. Various other areas were later influenced by these styles, including peripheral regions like Ji'nan and Linyi, as well as remote regions as far as southern Hebei and northern Anhui.
