内容摘要：在众多现存玄奘图像中，有一类图像虽为数不多，但他出现的场合与显示的身份很特殊，而且在某些细部造型方面也与众不同。文章通过对西安大慈恩寺、河南博物院及洛阳白马寺所藏玄奘造像进行考察，认为他就是十八罗汉像中的玄奘像。

A Different Type of Xuanzang Image：Images of

Xuanzang among the Eighteen Arhats

Abstract：Among the many types of images of Xuanzang， there is one type， though small in number， in which Xuanzang’s presence and identity seem to be particularly special. In addition， some details of this identity appear to be totally unique in the iconography of Xuanzang. By examining the statues of Xuanzang in the Daci’en Temple in Xi'an， in the Henan Museum and in the White-Horse Temple in Luoyang， this paper comes to the conclusion that Xuanzang was occasionally depicted as one of the Eighteen Arhats.
