Advances of Research on dsRNA Fungicides Based on Nanocarriers

Abstract: Plant diseases cause huge losses in crop yields every year,the new green control strategies are crucial for agricultural production and food security. Spray-induced gene silencing (SIGS),which is developed based on the principle of RNA interference (RNAi), can be implemented by spraying double-stranded RNA(dsRNA) externally on the surface of plants. dsRNA interferes with the growth or the normal expression of disease-related genes of pathogens to achieve prevention and control effect on diseases. This technology has shown great potential in the field of green plant protection. However,the challnges of poor stability and low delivery efficiency of dsRNA becomes a pressing problem of the day. The application of nanomaterials can effectively protect dsRNA from degradation,improve the delivery efficiency of dsRNA and prolong the protective duration for crops,thereby enhancing the efectiveness of dsRNA in controlling plant diseases.In this paper,the development of fungicides based on dsRNA-nanocarriers and its research status in the field of plant disease control were reviewed,and the future development of the industry was prospected.

基于RNA干扰(RNA Interference,RNAi)技术开发的外源双链RNA(Double-strandedRNA,dsRNA),能够精确诱发植物病原菌内特定基因的沉默,进而引起靶标生物的非正常生长或致病力降低,从而达到防治农作物病害的目的,也被称为RNA生物农药[1]。(剩余18821字)
