AbstractSelenium is an essential trace element for humanbody.The primary functional form of selenium in the organism isselenoproteins （Sep），which playsacrucial rolein maintaining normal physiological functions，influencing immuneresponses，andisalsoimplicatedin tumorigenesis andrelated metabolicdisorders.Recentstudies haveshownthat Sepisinvolvedinthepathophysiological processofinflammatorybowel disease （IBD）.Thisarticlereviewedthe mechanisms ofSepin IBD，aimingto explore the pathogenic mechanismsof IBDand provide insights forthe diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
