AbstractChronic constipation isacommon disease of digestive system in general population and clinical practice which leads toadecline inpatient'squalityoflifeandagreat socialandeconomicburden.Currently，therearevarious auxiliaryexaminationsandnumerous treatmentoptions forchronicconstipation，and someclinicians lack suficient knowledgeof how to standardizetheconstipation-related examinationsand treatments.Inorderto establishconstipation diagnosisand treatment standards in linewith China'scurrent stage，the Gastrointestinal MotilityGroup，Functional Gastrointestinal Disease Group&Esophageal Disease Groupof Chinese Society of Gastroenterology，Chinese Medical Association，togetherwiththeChina HealthPromotionFoundationjointlycariedouttheSpecialistColaborativePublic Welfare Project—Gastrointestinal MotilityQuality Control Circle（GIMQCC）andorganized domestic experts to formulate theguidelinesfordiagnosisandtreatmentofchronicconstipationinChinabyliteraturereview，fulldiscussionandmultiple revisions，aiming to improve the diagnosis and treatment of chronic constipation in China.
