AbstractBalloon-assistedenteroscopy （BAE），encompassingdouble-baloon enteroscopy（DBE）and single-balloon enteroscopy （SBE），playsapivotalroleinthediagnosisandtreatmentofsmallintestinaldiseasessuchassmalintestinal bleeding，Crohn'sdisease，smallintestinal tumors，andincompletesmall intestinal obstruction.With technological advancements，BAEhasnotonlyimprovedthediagnosticyieldforsmallintestinaldiseasesbutalsoenabledminimally invasivetherapeuticinterventions.ThesafetyandeficacyofBAEhavebeenwidelyvalidated，anditisexpectedtoplayan expanding roleinthediagnosisandtreatmentofsmallintestinal diseases inthefuture.Thisarticlereviewedtheresearch progress on the application of BAE in diagnosis and treatment of smallintestinal diseases.
