Antibacterial Effect of a New Strain of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus Ac O190 on Maize Leaf Spot Disease

Abstract:In order to promote the development of non-traditional biocontrol bacterial resources for maize leaf spot disease,the plate confrontation method was used to test its antibacterial effect. The strain species were identified through 16S rDNA sequence analysis,and the antibacterial activity was tested using fermentation culture filtrate. Different temperatures and pH were designed to explore the environmental adaptability of the strain,and to clarify a bacterial species with biocontrol effect and its antibacterial effect on corn leaf spot disease.The results demonstrated that the tested strain was Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (designated as AcO19o),which exhibited approximately 50% inhibition against B . maydis. The strain thrived at 28-37°C (204号 and maintained robust growth at pH5.0 ,though its growth was slightly inhibited at pH9.0 .In conclusion, (A.calcoaceticus) Ac O190 displays promising antifungal eficacy and strong environmental adaptability, suggesting its potential as a biocontrol agent for further development.
