Abstract: Carbon dots (CDs) have emerged as promising photothermal agentsfornear-infrared (NiR)-mediated tumor therapydue to theirexcellent biocompatibility tunable optical properties.However, it isstill unclear howto preciselycontrol theirassembly behavior toenhance NiRabsorption photothermalconversionefficiency.Inthiswork,wepresentahyperassembled electron donor/acceptor CDs complex (S-d/a-CDs), constructed byintegrating electron-donating CDs (d-CDs)with electron-withdrawing CDs (a-CDs).This configuration significantly enhances the NiR absorption capacity S-d/a-CDs. Under 740nm laser irradiation, S-d/a-CDsachieve a remarkable photothermal conversion efficiency (PTCE) 65.8% . S-d/a-CDs exhibit negligible cytotoxicity effective tumor accumulation capacity throughintravenous administration,enabling complete tumor eliminationafter NIR laseriradiation.Toour knowledge,this study is thefirstto exploit synergistic assembles two types CDs for photo-physical propertyengineering, establishing a groundbreaking paradigm for the development advanced NIR-triggered photothermal materials.
